POSA virtually went into oblivion for some years before1997. The lull in the operations of the Association was attributed to the fact that certain key officials left Jos for other cities. The association as at then, had Mr. Emmanuel D. D. Jankanwa and Mr. Wilson Yale as interim Chairman and Secretary respectively. Mr. Jankanwa, of Lion Bank, was posted to Abuja while Mr. Yale left for-Yola thus grounding the association’s activities.

The inactivity of POSA worried so many people who verbally expressed the desire to revive the association, but without action. In 1997,three members of the 1981 set of POSA decided to convene a meeting of members of their set in the hope that it would eventually awaken the national body. GOVERNMENT Secondary School, Pankshin came into existence precisely on January 8, 1970 as a result of the efforts of the people that made up the former Pankshin Division. This was born through the tired less efforts of the first Pankshin /Kanam Community Secondary School Planning Committee members, among which were:
